Lee Kincaid is an oil landscape painter best known for her images of rural Virginia painted in a naturalistic style.  As a painter valuing privacy and anonymity, she shows her work selectively and through her website.

Paintings begin with a field sketch "en plein air," then are finished in the studio with a reference photograph.  Layers of intricate glazing create the light and shadows of her river and mountain paintings, while a palette knife creates the lyrical quality of her more impressionistic paintings.

Each painting is part of an ongoing pictorial history of sites that are compelling to the artist.
